2:00 p.m. - 07.12.02 Thursday was the first snowy day of the year. I woke up, found out that my japanese class was cancelled, and hung around watching a Making of the Two Towers special with Ali and Doug, and then micellanious TV with everyone else, who one by one showed up looking for fun. Then, we piled down to Zacks, where everything looked like a winter wonderland, with snow piled on the windows and everything. A ski lodge, is more like it. There was a wonderful sense of comraderie, and Italian style wedding soup. But I still had afternoon classes, but somehow they were fun too, since it was the second to last day of classes for the semester. Mizenko sensei gave us tea, and we talked for a while like always. We also got our assignments for the final, which don't seem like they will be terirbly difficult, just one more paper for me to write. This one is due by Friday of next week, but will probably be pushed aside for my Chinese Thought paper, which like a bad girl I haven't even started yet. Thank goodness it is due on Saturday. Yesterday I woke up to find yet another one of my classes cancelled, which was kind of sad, since it would have been our last Chinese Thought class, and Dr. Clark is cool. But, it meant that I went back to sleep for an hour until I had to get up for japanese class. In class, we got our tests and essays back, and I was happy to see that I got an A on the test and a 4/5 on the essay! Which is good considering all of the grammatical mistakes that I made in writing the essay. It's really annoying that most of the points I got off on the test were for stupid things, like copying the sentence wrong from the question which is frigging written RIGHT ABOVE IT! Needless to say, I felt like an idiot for some of them : ). But it's good, I was overwhelmingly happy. Until I found out that the videos that I had had out from the library, Tanpopo and Venus Beauty Institue, were massively late, since I took them home for break and then forgot them, and my mom had to mail them back to me. I emailed Tom, who had them at work to rip copies of them, and went crazy for a while thinking about how much money I was going to have to pay for my stupid mistake until I eventually dozed off for an afternoon nap that turned into me missing dinner. When I woke up, I went downstairs, found that Tom had not taken the movies back, took them from him and ran to the library (because running is more fun) and gave them to the desk person, who happened to be Joe, who comes to anime and is generally nice. I told him that I thought the movies would be late, and he took them, scanned them, and told me that they weren't! Which was probably untrue. So, either he deleted my late fees, or they weren't actually late. Either way he is cool, and completely made my day. So then I got back elated. It was the night for kelly's house project, and we watched Ever After, the ultimate girlie wish fulfillment movie that always makes me happy despite its...well...problems. :p Hey, Drew Barrymore is pretty, and gets to dress up like a princess and have will of her own. Go her. Adam, Dan and I later watched 5 episodes of Kare Kano, later joined by Ali, and had a wonderful time watching a terrific show and dancing to the opening and ending themes. By that point I was incredibly hyper, but after singing Hedwig songs with Ali while doing dishes, I decided that I should actually go to bed. And so I did. This morning has been pretty uneventful. My body has chosen to be in pain pretty much everywhere for some reason - it does what it wants. Today should be studying day for the Japanese final on Monday. The problem will be finding my old tests, which are going to consitute 1/3 of the final. Tomorrow will be finishing my poetry paper for Intro, followed by more Japanese...yay!
