1:31 a.m. - 14.11.02 Other things include friends, work, Japan, my mom, Death of a Salesman, and my antisocialness. Oh, and RPGMaker. Adam showed it to me, and I immediately (well, not immediately, since I was forcing myself to work on my paper, but soon enough, anyway) downloaded it, and later played around with it some, making a cute little map with a cute little anime-esque girl who likes tea! It's really amazing, and stupid at the same time - pretty much every game everyone is going to make with the program is going to look the same, depending, of course, on design skill. It's great fun, though, and I feel all cool having done it. I am proud of myself for making more than one map, since both Adam and Doug thought that I would never make it past the first one :p. Also, death comes easily when you are doing research in the library periodicals. The periodicals are stored in rows of shelves that are on a big platform that they can be slid around on. I had to find a collection of Modern Drama from 1968 for my Death of a Salesman paper, so I ventured in, after moving the stacks to what I thought was a reasonable distance apart. I take one step in, then two, and then all of a sudden the walls are ACTUALLY CLOSING IN ON ME! I back up quickly, trying desperately not to put anymore weight on the floor in order to not be killed between two very large, heavy shelves. So, still not having the article, poor little claustrophobic Michelle has to venture back to get it. And I did, that time. And the article was helpful. Thank you Modern Drama. Yes, I am a hardcore researcher now. Like Indiana Jones. My mom and I talked for a long time today. It was nice. We even discussed Harry Potter, which is something I never thought that I would be able to do with my mother. It was odd, yet very pleasing. My grandparents are fine again, which is really good to hear. My mom mentioned that I should think about the option of flying to Korea to visit my uncle two weeks before I am expected in Japan, that way I would still have about two weeks of summer break when I get back, and would show up in Japan dejetlagged and ready to go on the day CIEE expects me. I like this idea. I picture myself, with sparkles, of course, getting off the plane in Japan, seeing my group, bounding up to them (still sparkling) excitedly, meanwhile, they are all jetlagged out and confused :p. Evil, evil me. Bed is calling. More tomorrow.
