12:19 a.m. - 19.11.02 Everything is progressing famously, except for my work, and even that isn't too overbearing. Yet. It will be soon, of course, but right now I am feeling too much in tune with everything to allow such practical matters to get me down. Sure I have a paper due tomorrow that I only started an hour ago, but...meh! So what? It will get done because it has to! The Tori Amos concert on Friday was amazing. We had seats in the very back row, which should have been terrible, but I had a great time despite that. Tori was so cute, frolicking around when she got up to do her bows and goodbyes. She was wearing a flowy dress and looked ethereal, at least from the back row :p. The set list could have, of course, included more of MY favorites (always true of anything, ne?), but everything was spot on. I love Taxi Ride! Such a great song, and when she played it with the band and gave it power it just multiplied my affection for it. I was surprised when she played "Putting the Damage On," I totally didn't expect that, and it was gorgeous. Following it with Tear in Your hand made tears come to my eyes. I gained a new appreciation for everything on Scarlet's Walk (I mentioned Taxi Ride already :p). Wednesday was so much fun. Here's the set list, mostly for my future reference: Wampum Prayer (offstage, prerecorded?) a sorta fairytale (this made Tom happy :p) In The Springtime Of His Voodoo Bliss Amber Waves (I'm still not a big fan of this song for some reason...I like it, but it's just not in as high esteem as the others) Cornflake Girl Pancake Crucify Wednesday (Band leaves) Doughnut Song Gold Dust River (beautiful!) (Band returns) Wheels on the Bus (ee! so cute!) Your Cloud Concertina Sugar (yum, even if played in standard form) Taxi Ride Take To The Sky I Can't See New York Spring Haze 1st Encore Black Swan (with band) Black-Dove (January) Sweet Sangria 2nd Encore Putting The Damage on Tear In Your Hand Afterwards Tom and I wandered around Chinatown trying to find a place to eat, followed by finding a place to eat and eating. mmm...lomein-y goodness. Saturday was the Italian Dinner, and I would like to belatedly thank the chefs involved in making it a success yet again! You guys are so swell! The Trench looked gorgeous, and the food, ach, the food! *swoon* Yesterday, when I should have been reading all day, was mall day. Tom and I went to KOP and malled about for no reason at all other than wanting to get out of the house. We shared a Cinnibon (I just cannot eat the ultra cinnimony middle bits) and looked at the anime at Suncoast and tried in vain, once again, to get him a Zip Zap remote control car thing from Radio Shack. The rest of Sunday was spent reading about Daoism. And who DOESN'T like Daosim, when you get down to it? I got signifigantly into the book before wandering downstairs, where, after midnight, a bunch of us celebrated Tom's birthday by watching him take his honorary first Gin and Tonic. Because he doesn't like things that are delicious.
