11:09 a.m. - 30.01.03 Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! My birthday was wonderful - on no other day can you say "you have to be nice to me, it's my birthday!" and have that statement have ANY sort of effect whatsoever other than the humor value. My eyes are puffy as hell, but I don't want to change out of my contacts, Tom took me to the Cheesecake Factory - no, I didn't have cheesecake, but I did have the largest strawberry shortcake I have ever seen. The Vietnamese shrimp spring rolls were not quite as tasty to me (hey, they sounded good on the menu...), but the chicken that I got was great and had asparagus with it, doubly great. We also went to some stores in the mall, like Organized living (mmmm....modular office furniture...) and EBX. I have made it my new goal to find a used copy of Kingdom Hearts somewhere - not that I should be buying games that I won't be able to play for the months that I will be in Japan, but...Kingdom Hearts! Afterwards we came back to Zwingli and Amy had made me a cake and people sang to me and embarassed me thoroughly, and then gave me gifts which embarassed me again :). Idea - I should put the little purple hat on the elephant costumed Hello Kitty! teehee, how cute would that be! Although, I guess that she already has a costume on, so maybe putting her in another hat would just somehow make her look uncute... And I have been initiated into the bar-going group of Ali and John. We walked to the Trappe Tavern, where Ali and I proved our girliness through alcohol. I was talked into a Cosmopolitan and a strawberry daquiri, and she had a strawberry daquiri and a pina colada - I think that we drove the bartender mad with all of the ice crushing dealies he had to do :). Its fun to be a girl, but it is not fun to smell like smoke when you come home. Drinking in a bar seems to be like bowling, only without the feeling that I going to lose.
